  • ¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter

  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

  • 3 large eggs

  • 1 egg yolk

  • ¾ cup (90g) all-purpose flour

  • ½ tsp sea salt

  • Optional: ½ cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chunks

Instructions

  • Melt chocolate and butter in double boiler. Cool slightly.

  • Whisk eggs, yolk, and sugar until pale.

  • Slowly mix in melted chocolate.

  • Fold in flour and salt, then any extras.

  • Pour into lined 8×8 pan.

  • Bake at 350°F for 22–25 minutes until center is just set.

  • Cool completely before slicing
