Soft, buttery rolls filled with melted cheese and savory garlic. These cheesy garlic rolls are perfect as a side dish, appetizer, or comfort food snack.

Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup warm milk (110°F)
3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp butter (for sautéing garlic)
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  • Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.

  • In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and melted butter. Mix and knead until smooth.

  • Let dough rise in greased bowl, covered, for 1–1.5 hours.

  • Sauté minced garlic in butter until fragrant. Combine with mozzarella and half the parmesan.

  • Roll out dough into rectangle. Spread garlic-cheese filling evenly.

  • Roll up dough and slice into 12 pieces.

  • Place rolls in greased dish, cover, and let rise 30–45 minutes.

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Brush rolls with butter and sprinkle remaining parmesan.

  • Bake 20–25 minutes until golden brown.

  • Cool slightly and garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

Use floss for clean cuts. For extra flavor, sprinkle chili flakes or herbs into the filling.
