Ingredients

  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1½ cups granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup cocoa powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ cup chocolate chunks or chips (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8×8 pan with parchment.

  • Melt butter and let cool.

  • Beat sugar and eggs until pale, about 3–5 mins.

  • Stir in butter and vanilla.

  • Sift in flour, cocoa, and salt. Fold until just combined.

  • Stir in chocolate chunks.

  • Spread into pan and bake for 28–32 minutes.

  • Cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Store at room temp for 3–4 days or freeze individually. Add espresso powder or nuts for variations.
