A rich and creamy Baileys-infused trifle made with layers of chocolate cake, chocolate cheesecake mousse, and whipped cream. Perfect for holidays and special occasions.
4 cups chocolate cake or brownie cubes (baked and cooled)
16 oz cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup powdered sugar (divided)
1/3 cup Baileys Irish Cream
2 tsp vanilla extract (divided)
2 cups heavy whipping cream (divided)
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
2 tbsp cocoa powder (optional)
Chocolate shavings or crushed cookies for topping
In a bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add 1/2 cup powdered sugar, Baileys, 1 tsp vanilla, and cocoa powder if using. Mix well.
In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup heavy cream to stiff peaks. Fold into the cream cheese mixture to create mousse.
In another bowl, whip remaining 1 cup heavy cream with 1/4 cup powdered sugar and 1 tsp vanilla until soft peaks form.
In a trifle dish or glasses, layer cake cubes, Baileys mousse, and chocolate chips. Repeat layers as needed.
Top with whipped cream and garnish with chocolate shavings or crushed cookies.
Chill for 2 hours or overnight before serving.
Use store-bought cake for convenience. Adjust Baileys to taste. Not ideal for freezing.
