A fudgy, citrus-infused chocolate dessert that’s rich, aromatic, and perfect for any occasion. One bowl, big flavor, and minimal cleanup.
¾ cup dark chocolate, chopped
½ cup unsalted butter
¾ cup granulated sugar
Zest of 1 orange
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup all-purpose flour
¼ tsp salt
2 tbsp fresh orange juice
Optional: ½ cup chocolate chips, 1 tbsp candied orange peel
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch pan.
Melt chocolate and butter together until smooth.
Stir in sugar and orange zest.
Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and add orange juice. Mix until just combined.
Fold in optional add-ins.
Pour into pan and bake 22–26 minutes, until edges are set and center slightly soft.
Cool completely before slicing.
For stronger orange flavor, add orange extract or double the zest. Refrigerate before slicing for cleaner cuts. Freezes well.
