A festive Caprese salad arranged in the shape of a Christmas tree, made with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze — perfect for holiday tables.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cherry or grape tomatoes, halved

  • 8 oz mozzarella balls (ciliegine or bocconcini)

  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

  • 12 tbsp balsamic glaze

  • Sea salt & freshly ground pepper

  • Optional: breadsticks (tree trunk), cheese star, olives, pomegranate seeds

Instructions

  • On a large platter, layer tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil in alternating rows to form a tree shape.

  • Start wide at the bottom and taper upward.

  • Add a cheese star or tomato at the top for decoration.

  • Place breadsticks or cucumber sticks at the bottom for the trunk.

  • Drizzle lightly with olive oil and balsamic glaze just before serving.

  • Season with sea salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

  • Make ahead and chill up to 4 hours (dress right before serving).

  • Use multi-colored tomatoes for extra festive color.

  • Serve with crostini or crackers on the side.
