This quick and easy honey sesame chicken features golden pan-fried chicken tossed in a sweet-savory garlic soy glaze. A better-than-takeout meal in just 30 minutes!
1½ lbs boneless chicken breast or thighs, cubed
3 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 tbsp oil (for frying)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp water
1 tsp toasted sesame oil
1 tbsp sesame seeds
2 green onions, sliced (optional)
Toss chicken with cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
Heat oil in skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
In the same pan, sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
Add honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and water. Simmer until slightly thickened.
Return chicken to the pan and toss to coat.
Drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
Serve hot over rice or vegetables.
Use tamari for a gluten-free version.
Add chili sauce for heat.
Store leftovers in the fridge for 4 days or freeze up to 2 months.
