This quick and easy honey sesame chicken features golden pan-fried chicken tossed in a sweet-savory garlic soy glaze. A better-than-takeout meal in just 30 minutes!

Ingredients

  • lbs boneless chicken breast or thighs, cubed

  • 3 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp pepper

  • 2 tbsp oil (for frying)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated

  • 1/3 cup honey

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 1 tbsp water

  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

  • 2 green onions, sliced (optional)

Instructions

  • Toss chicken with cornstarch, salt, and pepper.

  • Heat oil in skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

  • In the same pan, sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.

  • Add honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and water. Simmer until slightly thickened.

  • Return chicken to the pan and toss to coat.

  • Drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.

  • Serve hot over rice or vegetables.

Notes

  • Use tamari for a gluten-free version.

  • Add chili sauce for heat.

  • Store leftovers in the fridge for 4 days or freeze up to 2 months.

  • Great for meal prep bowls with rice and broccoli.
