1 cup granulated sugar
4 large eggs room temperature
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup whole milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Powdered sugar for dusting optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare cake pan.

  • Cream butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.

  • Add eggs one at a time and mix well.

  • Stir in vanilla.

  • Combine flour, baking powder, and salt.

  • Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to batter.
