4 slices white sandwich bread
1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
1 cup heavy cream OR 6 oz cream cheese
2 tbsp powdered sugar or honey (optional)
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Wash, dry, and slice strawberries evenly.
Whip cream with powdered sugar until medium peaks, or blend cream cheese with honey.
Trim crusts off bread slices.
Spread cream evenly over each slice.
Layer strawberries on two slices.
Top with remaining bread, cream-side down.
Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
Slice and serve.
