½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup all-purpose flour
¼ tsp salt
1 cup M&M candies (¾ cup in batter, ¼ cup on top)
½ cup chocolate chips (optional)
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment and grease lightly.
Melt butter and stir in sugar until glossy. Let cool 5 minutes.
Whisk in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
In a separate bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
Fold dry ingredients into wet until just combined.
Stir in ¾ cup M&Ms and optional chocolate chips.
Pour into pan and smooth top. Sprinkle with remaining M&Ms.
Bake for 28–32 minutes, or until toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
Cool completely before slicing.
