Ingredients

12 ounces pasta
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic
1 bunch asparagus
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 lemon
1/2 cup Parmesan
1/3 cup pasta water
2 tablespoons parsley

Instructions

  • Cook pasta until al dente and reserve pasta water.
  • Sauté garlic in olive oil until fragrant.
  • Add asparagus and cook until tender-crisp.
  • Season and add cooked pasta.
  • Stir in pasta water, lemon zest, and juice.
  • Add Parmesan and mix until smooth.
  • Finish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Do not overcook asparagus.
Adjust lemon and cheese to taste.
Use pasta water for a smooth sauce.
