Juicy chicken breasts cooked to golden perfection and served with a rich, tangy lemon butter sauce.

Ingredients

Scale

2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt and black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup chicken stock
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon lemon zest
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Optional: 1 tablespoon capers
Optional: 1/4 cup white wine

Instructions

  • Pat chicken dry and season with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Sear chicken 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

  • Reduce heat to medium, melt butter, add garlic, and sauté 1 minute. Add chicken stock, lemon juice, lemon zest, and optional wine. Simmer 3–4 minutes.

  • Return chicken to the pan, spoon sauce over top, and cook 2–3 minutes. Garnish with parsley and optional capers. Serve immediately.

Notes

Avoid overcooking chicken for juiciness. Fresh lemon juice provides the best flavor. Can substitute chicken thighs or plant-based butter.
