Mediterranean Chicken Gyros with Feta Tzatziki

Juicy marinated chicken served in warm pita with fresh vegetables and creamy feta tzatziki for a flavorful Mediterranean meal.

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 cup Greek yogurt
1/2 cup cucumber, grated and drained
1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
4 pita breads
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
1 cup shredded lettuce
Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • Mix olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Marinate chicken 30 minutes to 4 hours.
  • Combine yogurt, cucumber, feta, lemon juice, dill, and garlic to make tzatziki. Chill.
  • Cook chicken in skillet or grill 5–7 minutes per side until fully cooked. Rest and slice.
  • Warm pita bread.
  • Assemble with chicken, vegetables, and tzatziki. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

Drain cucumber well; marinate longer for deeper flavor; substitute proteins or breads as needed.
