5 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
½ cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
½ tsp vanilla extract
⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
¼ cup all-purpose flour
⅛ tsp salt
¼ cup chocolate chips or chunks (optional)
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment.
Melt butter, stir in sugar until glossy.
Add egg and vanilla. Whisk well.
Sift in cocoa, flour, and salt. Stir to combine.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Spread batter into the pan and bake 18–22 minutes.
Cool, slice, and enjoy.
Store at room temperature up to 3 days. For gooier texture, chill before serving.
