A festive cookie packed with dried fruits, nuts, and warm spices — chewy, flavorful, and perfect for holiday gatherings.
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground nutmeg
1 ½ cups mixed dried or candied fruit, chopped
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Mix dry ingredients separately, then add to the wet mixture.
Fold in floured fruit and nuts.
Chill dough for 30–60 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Scoop onto baking sheet and bake 10–12 minutes.
Cool on sheet, then transfer to wire rack.
Use a flour-dusted fruit mix to prevent sinking. Add rum or orange zest for flavor twists. Store at room temperature or freeze.
