¾ cup (1½ sticks) unsalted butter, melted
1¼ cups granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
¾ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ tsp salt
½ cup chocolate chips or chunks (optional)
Preheat oven to 325°F. Line and grease an 8×8 pan.
Whisk sugar and eggs for 1–2 minutes. Add vanilla and melted butter.
Sift in flour, cocoa, and salt. Fold until just combined.
Stir in chocolate chips if using.
Spread batter in pan and bake for 30–35 minutes.
Cool before slicing.
